2025 Hillary Innovation Summit
The Hillary Institute & Edmund Hillary Fellowship hosted the 2025 Hillary Innovation Summit on 17-18 February 2025 in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.
The 2025 Summit brought together up to 300 local and international leaders in person over two days to explore how we can collectively build Aotearoa NZ as a basecamp for a better world and where we can lead globally. It convened Hillary Laureates, Edmund Hillary Fellows, iwi and Māori organisations, local and global investors, entrepreneurs, system designers, and public and private sector leaders. The programme featured world-leading international keynotes, innovative panel discussions, EHF Transformative Venture demos, networking, collaboration opportunities and more. With te ao Māori, wellbeing and creativity interwoven throughout, participants had the chance to engage in 15 breakout sessions to deep dive into emerging opportunities and collaborative pathways for action, focusing on the Summit’s key themes:

Transformative Ventures with Global Impact - Crypto & Blockchain
As part of Techweek NZ 2024, EHF convened the online event, ‘Transformative Ventures with Global Impact: Crypto & Blockchain’, with Fellows Aya Miyaguchi, Executive Director of the Ethereum Foundation, Paul Salisbury, Co-Founder and CTO of Everlasting, and Andrew Hoppin, Co-Founder and CIO of Hyla Funds.
Aya, Paul, and Andrew are leading crypto and blockchain innovation, through transformative ventures that are focused on supporting communities and leveraging advanced technologies for good. They shared their journeys and challenges, and also explored the opportunities for how Aotearoa NZ can be a leader in crypto and blockchain for global impact.
How NZ Can Be A Global Leader in Sustainable Space & Aerospace
Aotearoa NZ’s aerospace & space activity is on the rise, with many ventures and products offering sustainable solutions or applications. So what is the potential for NZ to be at the forefront of global sustainable space & aerospace innovations, and how do we get there?
In this discussion, ‘How NZ Can Be A Global Leader in Sustainable Space & Aerospace’, the panel explores how Aotearoa NZ can lead the way, with insights from: Philipp Sueltrop, EHF Fellow & CTO at Kea Aerospace, Max Arshavsky, CEO at Zenno Astronautics, Emeline Paat-Dahlstrom, EHF Fellow & CEO at SpaceBase. Moderated by Mark Rocket, President of Aerospace New Zealand & CEO at Kea Aerospace.
