Are you up for the challenge?
Executive Director
We’re looking for a new Executive Director or for two Co-Executive Directors. This position presents a remarkable opportunity for an experienced leader to put to service their vision and skills while engaging with a globally recognised community of accomplished innovators and changemakers. It also offers the chance to shape the future of impact-focused leadership and foster a vibrant, impact-centred, international community, committed to Aotearoa as a basecamp for global impact.
The Executive Director will serve as the public face of the organisation/s and be responsible for fostering a vibrant and engaged community, as well as developing programmes that support Fellows, Laureates, stakeholders and partners in Aotearoa New Zealand and around the world. FAQs
Can I live outside Aotearoa NZ?
We are open to this possibility if you spend at least 3 months per annum in New Zealand. A co-ED appointment could work well in this scenario with one ED based in Aotearoa NZ and the other offshore.
What do you mean by co-ED? How would this work?
A co-Executive Director (co-ED) model allows for two individuals to share the responsibilities and leadership of the organisation. In practice, co-EDs would jointly oversee operations, strategy, and community engagement while maintaining clear areas of focus that align with their strengths and expertise. Exceptional communication and collaboration would be critical to ensure alignment on organisational goals and initiatives. During the recruitment process, shortlisted co-ED candidates may have opportunities to engage in discussions to assess potential compatibility for a cohesive leadership dynamic.
What is the reporting structure for this role?
The Executive Director reports to the Hillary Institute & EHF Board.
